Throughout the Venice Carnival period, the Stories of Children exhibition will offer a special programme with activities for children and adults alike. From 27th January to 13th February, the exhibition at the Children’s Provincial Institute of Santa Maria della Pietà shall be enriched with workshops on masks, animated readings and thematic tours, all run by Artsystem.

For over two weeks this year, Venice, Mestre and the Mainland shall be transformed into a sort of big circus with the sets used in the Fellini film, “La Strada”. It is this film that inspired Letizia Galli to create the drawings in her book “Il Sogno di Federico” that will lead our activities for children: little Federico brings the protagonists of the Stories of Children’s to life – come play with them amongst the stars!

Children will be able to read and see the illustrations of Federico’s story on display, before then creating their very own mask.

For the adults, the THEMATIC TOUR: BEETWEEN NARRATION, ART AND ANCIENT CRAFTS offer a visit to exhibition and an artisan workshop >
Between narration, art and ancient crafts: starting with the stories of two great artists – Michelangelo and Leonardo – as told by the artist Letizia Galli, the retelling will lead to meeting with a Venetian artisan, in an experience bursting with colours, fragrances and expression in the workshop of the oarmaker, the creator of the Fórcole – a typical Venetian rowlock – and other objects carved in wood, with harmonious and indispensable forms for guiding Venetian boats.
