ANIMATED READINGS: INTERACTION, LISTENING, PLAY
This activity is aimed towards children from 4 to 10 years of age and provides a phase of contact with the book from the original drawings visible in the exhibition, followed by listening to the story being read by a professional reader with the help of gestuality and music, concluding with a game in line with the story told, with the animation of the characters, creative out-loud expressions or through sounds. The animated reading will be a moment of intense group participation in the history, with full involvement to render the text “alive” with the help of all the participants.
There will be a total of 12 encounters to get to know the 12 characters featured in the Stories of Children.
The children will be welcomed into the specially-equipped teaching room to facilitate listening and their involvement in the narration.
The experience is intended to promote the pleasure of listening for the children and, for the older children, the desire to be able to read on their own.
At the end, the parents will be welcomed so as to be informed about the experience offered to the children based on the story told and to offer them some advice for spending pleasurable time dedicated to reading at home.
Duration: 60 minutes
Dates: each Saturday at 4:00 pm, from 6th January to 24th March 2018
Cost: €5 per child (upon reservation, the workshop will be confirmed with a minimum of 12 children)
Suitable for: children from 4 to 10 years

POIGNANT VISITS ENRICHED BY… COUP DE THÉÂTRE
The stories of Letizia Galli’s characters will intersect with the stories of the most famous Venetian figures, with the voices and the music that have resonated in the church of the Pietà for so long, with images that can help to reinvoke the past of this Institute. This is not just a guided tour but an experience that facilitates all – young and old – through sensorial solicitations, to immerse themselves in the narration, identifying with the lives of the abandoned children and those who, even in restricted circumstances, offered to welcome them into a community managed by strict rules of the Serenissima that has always been attentive and generous in providing assistance.
Along the way, participants will come into contact with a range of natural elements or simple everyday objects that will be revealed as symbols, with their spiritual or significant documentary value. Visitors will thus receive suggestions regarding new and unexpected links that will help to undertake a visit with greater effect that, starting from the imagination and creative inspiration of the artist Letizia Galli, will advance in harmony within a context full of history and testimonies throughout the centuries.
Duration: 45 minutes
Dates: each Sunday at 11:00 am, from 7th January to 25th March 2018
Cost: €8 including entrance – children under the age of 16 are free (the visit will be confirmed with a minimum of 8 paying participants)
Suitable for: adults and children
For both types of visit, reservation is required at least 48 hours prior to the appointment already established on the calendar or before the specific date requested.
